Time for Water Savings

With September here, remember, soil temperatures are dropping, and therefore the lawn will need less water. I highly recommend cutting a day of watering out of your schedule. Go from three mornings per week to two. If the weather remains warm, or you notice your lawn struggling, add that third day back in for a week. Another easy way to tell if you are over-watering is if your mower is leaving clippings. Typically, a decent mower cutting only .5-1 inch of lawn should cut it up enough that the clippings are small enough to hardly notice, or small enough they decompose within a day or two. If there are too many clippings left behind cut a day of watering out.

Can you imagine, if everyone out there cut a day out this month, how much water we could save?!
